POKING AROUND ON THE DAY AFTER WINTER SOLSTICE

It’s Sunday before Christmas and even most of the evildoers are BUSY wrapping presents to give their kids (I have it on impeccable authority that the reason we haven’t heard Steven Miller lately is because he found a good deal on Mexican Illegal Immigrant dolls, to give his kids so they can play Massive Deportations the rest of Christmas vacation), so there’s not a lot out there to poke around, but there’s one that’s pretty good. Last night, Vice President-elect Don-OLD, aka Felon34, aka the guy who still has no official role in the American government, posted the following on NoTruth AntiSocial:

Considered one of the Wonders of the Modern World, the Panama Canal opened for business 110 years ago, and was built at HUGE cost to the United States in lives and treasure - 38,000 American men died from infected mosquitos in the jungles during construction. Teddy Roosevelt was President of the United States at the time of its building, and understood the strength of Naval Power and Trade. When President Jimmy Carter foolishly gave it away, for One Dollar, during his term in Office, it was solely for Panama to manage, not China, or anyone else. It was likewise not given for Panama to charge the United States, its Navy, and corporations, doing business within our Country, exorbitant prices and rates of passage. Our Navy and Commerce have been treated in a very unfair and injudicious way. The fees being charged by Panama are ridiculous, especially knowing the extraordinary generosity that has been bestowed to Panama by the U.S. This complete “rip-off” of our Country will immediately stop….

“...The United States has a vested interest in the secure, efficient, and reliable operation of the Panama Canal, and that was alays understood. We would and will NEVER let it fall into the wrong hands! It was not given for the benefit of others, but merely as a token of cooperation between us and Panama. If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, and without question. To the Officials of Panama, please be guided acordingly!”

Tell me, do you really think THIS guy - the 78-year old Grandpa Befuddlement photographed at Motel-A-Lardo this weekend - knows where Panama is, or has the slightest idea of the history of the canal and U.S. relations with Panama?

Blogger Phil Scott pointed out after this was posted that “Please be guided” - a term not used in American English - is found in regular use in one place: South Africa. “Magnanimous gesture” is also not used that often here, but is frequently used in the Shitters posted on Xitter (that’s pronounced “Shitter”) by... wait for it...

Yes, Not-Elected-President-elect Elmo is someone who would have a personal interest in whatever put a bug up his ass about the canal, since the factor where he builds shitty cars that only work 75% of the time is in Texas, and he needs to ship them in large numbers to the West Coast, where those shitty cars that only work 75% of the time are considered the Official Car of Upper Middle Class Yuppies Who Think They‘re Making A Difference, here in Ecotopia (future name of the nation created by the three seceded West Coast states).

As Senator Chris Murphy observed in a CNN interview Friday night, “... what Elon Musk thinks tends to eventually be what the President of the United States thinks."

As pointed out in Foreign Policy magazine, there’s a reason why Panama has raised the canal fees. Of course, this reason is not one that National Embarrassment Don-OLD, aka Felon34, wants to hear about, since it’s just more fake news about the World’s Biggest Hoax:

“For months, a withering drought has created major traffic jams at the Panama Canal. The drought, which may have been exacerbated by climate change, has left the canal’s water levels lower than ever, forcing Panama to let fewer ships through. The restrictions have led to delays, increased shipping costs, and uncertainty over the future of one of the world’s critical trade chokepoints.”

For today’s Good Laugh, Ron Filipowski at Meidas Touch Network revealed that Demented Dingbat Laura Loomer says she’s the one who gave Trump the idea to seize the Panama Canal after she returned from a trip there and posted this on Xitter (that’ pronounced “Shitter”):

One observer noted that Don-OLD might have roused himself from his stupor when he was told he must send in US troops to take back the canal so they can raid the Panama banks that used to be tax havens and grab his records as a tax cheat before they are found and released. (Yes, that would bring him around. Something personal.)

Another says Elmo told him there’s another Big Faucet like the one in Canada, and ordered him to “Fetch! Bring it to me! Good Boy!”

Dr. Timothy Snyder presents a Modest Proposal that I for one think is very damn good, renaming the enemy: Mumpers.

“And to repeat unreflectively the words that Musk and Trump and other mumpers use is to take part in the transformation that they bring. Opposition requires clarity and clarity requires concepts. "Mump regime" is one I propose.

"Mump regime," Musk+Trump, keeps the two men who currently matter the most, Elon Musk and Donald Trump, in the proper order.

"Mump regime" is also better, at this point, than "MAGA." That term was always Trump's propaganda, and Trump simply does not matter as he once did. So “MAGA” is not only misleading but obsolete.

MAGA stands for "Make America Great Again." "Make" -- no one is going to make anything. "America" -- the people in charge are largely from elsewhere, and America is no mumper's object of concern. "Great" -- small and fractured is more likely. "Again" -- this level of oligarchy is new, as is the fascist language. We have moved on from a politics of eternity, an obsession with an imaginary past, to a politics of catastrophe.

"Mump regime," on the contrary, helps us to confront a real future. We are heading for a situation in which the fracturing of the government is deliberate and the weakness of the society desired. Some people talk of being the change they want to see in the world; the mumpers are the catastrophe their ideology tells them is inevitable.”

“Mumper” it is.

Since the election, I have noticed an increase in sarcastic, satirical humor in describing Felon34 and his Gang That Cannot Work And Play Well With Others. It’s a good idea. Humor is always the best weapon against fools who take themselves seriously. To me, the best anti-fascist movie ever made is Charlie Chaplin’s “The Great Dictator.” I mean, anyone who didn’t see Hitler for the deluded moron he was after watching the scene where “Hynek” dances with the world as his balloon, must not have been watching.

I’ve been doing it too, which should be all the proof needed for anyone, to demonstrate how easy it is if a Humor-Challenged Guy who didn’t always get the joke while growing up can do it. It’s a great tool for us, and it’s dead certain the one thing Elmo absolutely cannot abide is being laughed at. Neither can Felon34. It’s their Achilles Heel. Hitler immediately “got the joke” when he saw The Great Dictator and wa angrier at Chaplin than any other political opponent.
