It’s day 214 of Klepto-Kakistocracy II. There are 438 days to right the ship and avoid running onto the rocks.
Boy, two weeks ago, I was talking with a friend about how this has been the coldest Hell Season (i.e., Summer) I can remember in the City of Lost Angles. It’s true! Temperatures have mostly been in the 80s, varying from low to high, with some days in the 90s to make you remember Satan’s around here with his coal scoop somewhere trying to heat up the furnace, but not like the summers where I melted at over 100 for 10 days at a time (and renegotiated the national debt to pay for the air conditioning). Or the summer of 2006 when a car accident deprived me of my wheels and put me on public transit when it got to 116 for a week - hoo wah. And then... this week comes barging in bringing temps in the mid-upper 90s (I for one cannot tell the difference between 95 and 100, so it’s hot), and next week it “cools down” to only the upper 80s. Hoo boy. And there’s an Extreme Heat Warning through Sunday. Yesterday it was hot enough to attract a couple sky spirits that showed up overhead Le Chateau du Chat towards sunset. It seems only airplane people ever look up, and when I saw them I ran inside and grabbed the camera to record the visit. Thus, today’s blog photos.
Yesterday, the Unsupreme Fucked-up Court ruled 5-4 in an “emergency docket” ruling, allowing Kakistocracy II to cancel hundreds of millions of dollars in National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants linked to diversity initiatives. The decision partially lifts a Boston-based judge’s ruling that declared the cancellations illegal and blocked the administration from moving forward. Five of the court’s six Republican-appointed injustices sided with the administration. It marks the 18th time the Supreme Court has at least partially granted an emergency bid during Kakistocracy II.
U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann ruled that Alina Habbanobrain has been unlawfully serving as New Jersey’s top federal prosecutor. He explained that Kakistocracy II made Habba the U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey through a “novel series of legal and personnel moves,” disagreeing with the district court’s judges and criminal defendants in that district about who should lead the office along the way. “Faced with the question of whether Ms. Habba is lawfully performing the functions and duties of the office of the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, I conclude that she is not,” he wrote in a 77-page ruling. Maladministration II withdrew Habba’s nomination after it failed, and appointed her as first assistant U.S. attorney, making her acting U.S. attorney when she was to leave the position, a workaround to keep Habba in the role that Brann ruled doesn’t work. “I conclude that Ms. Habba was ineligible to assume the functions and duties of the office of the United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey on July 24, 2025, because she was not the first assistant when the vacancy occurred upon Mr. Sellinger’s resignation on January 8, 2025. Therefore, Ms. Habba may not participate in the defendants’ prosecutions going forward as the ‘Acting United States Attorney.’”
Habbanobrain demonstrated that fact when she attacked Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on The Ignorant Fat Mick Moron show on Fux Snooze last night, saying: “No. 1, I was the nominee to become the U.S. attorney. And Cory Booker and Andy Kim - who I have never, to this day, spoken to in my life, despite my attempts to meet them - have truly, truly done us a disservice. And frankly, same with Sen. Grassley by holding up a traditional blue slip, not a law, and not allowing a lot of the president’s picks to go through and be voted on by Senate. I didn’t even get to that point. Then, fast-forward. It goes to the judges; 17 federal judges in the state of New Jersey, 15 of which are Obama and Biden-appointed, that just, like, frankly - as we saw with [New York Attorney General Letitia] James - ry to use their seat for political motivation.” Go pave a parking lot, you whiny bimbo airhead. That or buy some kneepads and head for Whitey’s House;I hear there’s a mushwoom there in need of service.
Felon34 took a victory lap after a New York appeals court threw out the $500 million civil fraud penalty against him, using the ruling to attack judges and prosecutors involved in what he called “Political Trials.” Posting on Lies Anti-Social: “TOTAL VICTORY in the FAKE New York State Attorney General Letitia James Case! I greatly respect the fact that the Court had the Courage to throw out this unlawful and disgraceful Decision that was hurting Business all throughout New York State. This was a Political Witch Hunt, in a business sense, the likes of which no one has ever seen before.” Felon34 went on to attack numerous figures connected to the case and others he faced in New York, including Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron, who oversaw the case. He also attacked Judge Juan Merchan, who oversaw a separate case related to hush money allegations in which Trump was found guilty, and Judge Lewis Kaplan, who oversaw a defamation case involving Trump. “These were all Political Trials in an effort to destroy my viability as a Presidential Candidate before, during, and after the Election. All of these Judges should be ashamed of themselves for allowing them to happen. They are Political Hacks who did everything possible to hurt me as a Candidate,. This was an attack by the Biden/Harris Administration on their Political Opponent, ME. It is such an Honor to have withstood it, thrived, and even become President of the United States despite the horrible things that were done to me.” God I hate fucking Professional Martyrs - they always use it as the excuse for their lifetime loserness.

Gov Newsom responded to all the endless series of tiresome Kakistocrats scolds with their knickers in a knot as they explain why it’s perfectly okay for Dear Leader to tweet like a coked-up squirrel experiencing an Adderall overdose, but it’s not okay for Gavin Newsom to mimic it with his trolling of Dearest Leader: “I mean, even poor Kid Rock — these guys, they’ve gotten a little precious, haven’t they? the folks at Fox are like, ‘oh, this is so unbecoming of a governor. oh, oh.’ and meanwhile, they sit there reading his tweets every single day. are they really that out of touch? it’s jaw-dropping how precious and concerned the New York Post has suddenly gotten. how the Wall Street Journal board is like, ‘oh no, we can’t have this.’ I mean, what I hope is that we’re exposing it all. I hope we’re entertaining some people.”
Couchfucking Justa Douchebag Vance continues to demonstrated what semi-literate, talentless, inbred hillbilly white trash look like: Vice President Vance bashed the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on Thursday over a recent analysis that showed President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” will make the poorest Americans even poorer, while benefiting the highest earners. While speaking at an industrial refrigeration manufacturing facility in Peachtree City, Ga., about the policy package, Vance criticized the CBO assessment in his response to a question on how he justifies the impact on the poorest Americans. “First of all, the Congressional Budget Office, sometimes they put out reports that are absolutely atrocious, and I think this is a good example of a very atrocious report,” he said to applause from the crowd. (The CBO report, which was done at the request of Democrats, found that the top 10 percent of earners in the country will see an average boost of $13,600 per year over the next decade as a direct result of provisions in the law, while the bottom 10 percent will see an average annual decrease of $1,200.) Vance continued to tout the benefits of the law, including no tax on tips and on overtime (neither of which is actually in the bill and wouldn’t help anyway). “The most important thing for people who are living at the bottom of the income ladder is that they not pay taxes on their income sources,. So, if you’re working hard and you’re working overtime, you’re going to get a big fat tax cut. If you’re working at a restaurant or some other business where you’re earning your wages primarily through tips, you’re going to get a big fat tax cut. And most importantly, the president’s economic policies are going to prevent your job from being shipped off to Asia or to Mexico. That is the very best thing for people at the bottom of the income ladder.” As with everything out of Corporal Six Months In An Air-Conditioned Trailer’s mouth, this is all utter bullshit.
USSR Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (It’s the title he wants) questioned the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and said the security guarantees under discussion for a potential peace deal are “hopeless,” saying that jumped-up Leningrad “Yard Punk” Putin is ready to meet with Zelensky, but only if certain conditions are met first. “Our president has repeatedly said that he is ready to meet, including with Mr. Zelensky, with the understanding that all issues that require consideration at the highest level will be well worked out. And, of course, with the understanding that when and if the matter — I hope when — comes to signing future agreements, the issue of the legitimacy of the person who will sign these agreements with the Ukrainian side will be resolved.” Commissar Putin has repeatedly suggested Zelenskyy is not a legitimate president because his term was due to expire last year and martial law delayed elections, claiming leader has claimed Zelenskyy lacks legal standing to sign any formal agreements. Lavrov said, “All the different ideas, all the unilateral moves are an absolutely hopeless venture. As the current discussions between the West and the Ukrainian side are essentially linked to providing guarantees in the form of the foreign military intervention of a certain part of the Ukrainian territory.”

Turd World shithole Uganda - which is even worse than it was under Idi Amin - has agreed to a deal with the United States to take deported migrants as long as they don’t have criminal records and are not unaccompanied minors, the foreign ministry said Thursday. The ministry said in a statement that the agreement had been concluded but that terms were still being worked out. It added that Uganda prefers that the migrants sent there be of African nationalities, but did not elaborate on what Uganda might get in return for accepting deportees. Human rights lawyer Nicholas Opio likened a deportee deal to human trafficking, and said it would leave status of the deportees unclear. “Are they refugees or prisoners?” he said. “The proposed deal runs afoul of international law. We are sacrificing human beings for political expediency; in this case because Uganda wants to be in the good books of the United States. That I can keep your prisoners if you pay me; how is that different from human trafficking?”
Yesterday, a three-judge panel for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a lower court decision that blocked Kakistocracy II’s plans to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Hondurans, Nicaraguans and Nepalese regufees. 51,000 Hondurans and nearly 3,000 Nicaraguans who have been in the country for roughly 25 years will need to leave the country by September. Kakistocracy II celebrated the ruling, which will allow them to strip work permits from TPS holders and begin deportations as courts continue to weigh whether they followed the letter of the law in ending the status.
On the other side of the country in Florida, federal Judge Kathleen M. Williams made a decision in the lawsuit over the environmental impact of Alligator Alcatraz that demands no new detainees be accepted at the migrant detention facility, and officials there must remove fencing, lighting, gas, and sewage waste receptacles within 60 days. The order was sparked in part by concerns from the Miccosukee Indian Tribe of Florida, who claimed the operation of the facility was impacting their food and water supply. She wrote: “Every Florida governor, every Florida senator, and countless local and national political figures, including presidents, have publicly pledged their unequivocal support for the restoration, conservation, and protection of the Everglades. This Order does nothing more than uphold the basic requirements of legislation designed to fulfill those promises.”
Ye3sterday, Orlando officials denounced the overnight removal of a rainbow-colored crosswalk outside the Pulse nightclub where 49 people were gunned down, saying it was part of an attack on LGBTQ lives by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said the painting over by state workers of the crosswalk with rainbow colors often associated with LGBTQ pride was “callous” and “a cruel political act.” The massacre at the LGBTQ-friendly nightclub in 2016 was the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history at the time. “This crosswalk not only enhanced safety and visibility for the large number of pedestrians visiting the memorial, it also served as a visual reminder of Orlando’s commitment to honor the 49 lives taken,” Dyer said. State Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith, a Democrat from Orlando, called the overnight removal work a cowardly act. “They did this in the middle of the night because they were scared of the resistance because they know what they did was wrong.”
The US will cap tariffs on imports from Europe at 15%, according to details released Thursday of a trade deal Washington and Brussels verbally struck last month. The framework spared the European Union from the Chief Kakistocrat’s threats of higher tariffs on foreign-made pharmaceuticals and semiconductors, but in a caveat that could frustrate Europe’s struggling automakers, Washington agreed to lower levies on cars and parts only after the bloc proposed legislation to lift tariffs on all US industrial goods. This has no bearing on individual orders by U.S. citizens from companies in Europe that were previously not subject to tariffs under the DeMinimus Rule protecting orders under $800 in value. The announced Standard Tariff on these packages - regardless of the value of the individual order - will be $100, payable by the customer. This will destroy many European small businesses, whose profits depended on orders from U.S. Customers (and yes, I am taking it personally since it will destroy the businesses of my friends in the model industry in Ukraine and other Eastern European companies).
Yesterday, the California Senate passed a proposed constitutional amendment that will ask Californians to approve temporary congressional maps, moving forward with Golden State Democrats’ response to GOP-led redistricting in Texas. This sets up a Nov. 4 special election that would ask Californians to greenlight going around the state’s existing independent redistricting commission until the end of the decade. The state Senate began considering another bill, related to logistics for the special election, as Democrats race to pass the legislation through both chambers by Friday.
Thursday Klepto-Kakistocracy II unveiled a list of 20 Smithsonian exhibits the MAGA scum in Whitey’s House alleges are being used to frame historical events through “ideological” narratives instead of factual evidence. Items categorized as unacceptable include an exhibit at the National Museum of the American Latino that portrays the U.S. as stolen land and characterizes U.S. history as rooted in “colonization.” (A true fact.) The administration also slammed the National Museum of American History for its depiction of Benjamin Franklin, a founding father, as a slave owner and took issue with the stance that his “scientific accomplishments were enabled by the social and economic system he worked within.” Other exhibits highlighted focus on transgender communities, specifically targeting the American history museum’s “LGBTQ+ History” exhibit and condemned a separate display lauding the 50th anniversary of Title IX with a focus on transgender athletes. President Trump signed an executive order in February barring transgender women from competing in women’s sports. The decision to highlight more than a dozen exhibits and artworks as “woke” comes days after Trump criticized the history museum for its depiction of slavery and its impact on Black Americans
Early this morning the FBI raided the home of former National Security Advisor John Bolton. Officially, the raid is part of a "national security investigation in search of classified records,” and of course Pesnit Klepto “knows nothing about it.” Bullshit. This is about revenge, about intimidation, and about spreading fear. It is the classic move of a fascist dictatorship, and it’s not going to be an isolated incident. It’s just the beginning of many searches, investigations, grand juries and possible indictments, as we have already seen this week and last with the “criminal referrals” of Senator Adam Schiff, New York AG Letitia James, and Fed governor Janet Cook, all for “mortgage fraud” created out of whole cloth by a MAGA true believer installed to oversee federal home loans. These criminal probes are the bookends of Kakistocracy II’s threats, lawsuits, and attempts to extort critics in law, academia, and the media.
Folks, things are not going to get better soon, and even after we stop him, it’s likely going to take a generation to prevent another assault and repair the damage done. We have to be in it for the long haul, even if it’s unlikely we’ll be around to see the outcome (I’m reminded of my Quaker Abolitionist ancestors, who kept up the fight for 175 years). Be sure to take care of you and yours, and grab happiness wherever it pops above the surface. Don’t worry about the days where it feels impossible. Just tell yourself you’re not in full possession of all the facts and listen to the feedback from your universe, not the bullshit we all have in our minds.

Smart (??) of them to go after John Bolton first. He’s probably the least sympathetic critic Donald has these days and I’ve seen a lot of “good riddance” type shit on social media that’s, frankly, pretty fucked up. Regardless of politics, even a total warmongering asshole like Bolton doesn’t deserve this crap. Kind of hilarious that they went there at dawn in an attempt to fuck with him and he was already at the office. Oops.
"We have to be in it for the long haul, even if it’s unlikely we’ll be around to see the outcome (I’m reminded of my Quaker Abolitionist ancestors, who kept up the fight for 175 years)." Thanks fir this excellent wisdom and advice, Tom. I have been part of a Parish AntiRacism Team (ART) for several years. It began learning, working, and building community during trump 1.0. We keep at it believing everything we are doing is building resistance, resilience, and resoluteness to stay on the journey to liberation. There will be lots to rebuild and redesign not to mention acting to de-fascisize (!) everywhere. We might begin by finally ending the stupidity of "trickle down" economics via Freedman and the Chicago school. That turn to the right has caused so much economic and social rage it is really no wonder people were angry enough to be conned and bamboozled by the very same people who benefitted from reaganomics. The waking up is beginning. Remaining encouraged will be a challenge.
