This movie is in post-production now. It’s coming out in March, the week after Super Tuesday when Trump wipes out his competition and becomes the GOP nominee for President.
It’s going to play in IMAX and it has theatrical distribution.
The production company, A24, is “top of the line” in Hollywood.
It’s written and directed by Alex Garland, an English novelist, screenwriter, film producer and director. He is best known for the films Ex Machina (2015) and Annihilation (2018). Garland's others works as a writer includes The Beach (2000), 28 Days Later (2002), Sunshine (2007), Never Let Me Go (2011) and Dredd (2012).
He is also the co-writer on the video game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. In 2015, Garland made his directorial debut with Ex Machina and was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Writing, Original Screenplay category.
He’s an A-Lister.
The cast includes Jess Plemons and Kirsten Dunst.
They’re A-Listers.
The story line is that the President has run for an unconstitutional third term, and has won. California and Texas have seceded. The President sent the Air Force to bomb Los Angeles, Houston and New York City.
The forces of rebellion are now closing in on Washington D.C.
This isn’t some Roger Corman cheapie to play on transient public feelings.
God help us if this is “entertainment.”

Oh boy, every MAGAt's wet dream in living color and on IMAX..... The damn fools don't realize that if they take away peoples' rights, eventually the government will come for them too. Granted, there is a contingent of military personnel who are MAGA-friendly if not MAGA themselves, and we do not know who will answer the call to overthrow the legitimate government. The unspoken background of this film - not mentioned at all - is that such an event or situation would lead to a depression. Also, while it is churlish to say so, the 14% of US counties who voted for Hillary in 2016 produced 65% of the US GDP that year - the red states (except for oil-rich Texas) are welfare clients of the federal government. The other scenario they do not mention here is that in this situation, the government will confiscate all privately-owned firearms as threats to public order.....
Too close to the bone for my increasingly delicate self!
