A Pew Research poll in June found 44% of Republican or GOP-leaning voters believe the U.S. is providing too much aid to Ukraine. Just 34% believe it's "about right" or "not enough." That's the highest level of GOP skepticism for Ukraine aid since the war began.
The Party or Trump Treason is moving more and more into full-out support for Vladimir Putin and his attack on Ukraine. Calling for “in-place” peace efforts is to give Putin all of the area of Ukraine he has stolen since 2014: Crimea, the eastern provinces, the “land bridge” to Crimea. That is not peace; it’s a guarantee of further war.
Such skepticism of U.S. engagement is still a minority opinion among Republican elected leaders, but it is now embraced by the GOP's top two MAGA candidates for president - Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSatan.
Calling for defunding American military aid to Ukraine is becoming something of a litmus test within contested GOP primaries.
Speaking at his rally in Erie, Pennsylvania last night, Trump called for the House Republicans to withhold all further aid for Ukraine until the Department of Justice and FBI cooperates with the Republican “investigations” into the president and his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings. He also repeated his pledge, if reelected, to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Biden family. Trump first made that campaign promise in June the day he was arraigned on federal charges of mishandling classified documents after leaving the White House.
The demand echoed Trump actions that resulted in his first impeachment, when he withheld aid from Ukraine while pressuring the country’s president to announce an investigation of Biden.
“Congress should refuse to authorize a single additional shipment of our depleted weapons stockpiles to Ukraine until the FBI, DOJ and IRS hand over every scrap of evidence they have on the Biden Crime Family’s corrupt business dealings,” Trump said at the rally.
He added that any Republican congress members who didn’t support the effort should face primary challenges. This is the tactic he used last year to unseat Republicans who voted to impeach him for inciting the January 6, 2021, insurrection.
Democratic National Committee spokesman Ammar Moussa responded: “Just like when he was impeached, Trump is using aid to Ukraine to play politics, which only serves to benefit one person: Vladimir Putin. MAGA Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Kevin McCarthy are echoing Trump’s baseless attacks, floating a political impeachment, and wasting taxpayer dollars instead of working with President Biden on actually delivering lower costs, more jobs, and safer communities for the American people.”
Former Vice President Mike Pence was jeered at a conservative gathering in Iowa on Friday after defending continued support from the United States to Ukraine. He was being interviewed by Pro-Putin traitor Tucker Carlson, who openly supports a Russian victory in the war.
"What I saw in Ukraine was evil. And I believe that it is in the interest of the United States of America to continue to give the Ukrainian military the resources that they need to repel the Russian invasion and restore their sovereignty," Pence said before being booed by some in the audience while some applause could also be heard.
If Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy wins the presidency, he says he would end U.S. support for Ukraine and instead broker a peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine.
"I will end the war by ceasing further U.S. support for Ukraine and negotiating a peace treaty with Russia that achieves a vital U.S. security objective: ceasing Russia's growing military alliance with China," Ramaswamy said in a policy speech Friday. Such a position demonstrates a total misunderstanding of how politics works, and should be disqualifying of this ignorant amateur for any political office on grounds of demonstrated incompetence and ignorance.
Former Navy SEAL and businessman Tim Sheehy, the party-backed candidate challenging Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) Said earlier this month that the U.S. must end its involvement in Ukraine and “compel an immediate peaceful outcome” to the conflict. “We are a year into this war and America has done our duty in stopping this vicious and unprovoked attack, and we must now demand a settlement which ends the killing of innocent people and the unlimited supply of arms from the United States.”
He went on to say that the U.S. “should be focusing its energies on fixing our economy,” claiming his Democratic opponent, Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), and President Joe Biden have engaged in “wasteful spending” while ignoring domestic issues such as border security. I guess Sheehy is illiterate, since he doesn’t seem able to read the actual economic news, that things are looking good. Like the rest of the MAGAmorons, he proves that MAGAworld is where the sky is green and the grass is blue.
This is 180 degrees from his statement a year ago at the outset of the Russian assault on Ukraine when he expressed unwavering support for backing Ukraine, going so far as to suggest the U.S. should commit American troops. “Sweden and Finland are next? We’ve seen this movie before….stop him now before the price tag for putting Putin down will be a lot higher,” he wrote last year on his LinkedIn page, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Georgia, Crimea, Syria, now Kiev- then what? Estonia? Finland? Sweden? Gofund me pages and twitter likes aren’t enough. Soldiers, planes, bombs and bullets will be needed against this Tyrant.” Sheehy voiced frustration with what he criticized as American “inaction” as Russia began its attack. “Our inaction in the face of unchecked evil is shameful. The time to intervene on behalf of a free democracy is now.”
That he has reversed himself 180 degrees to fall in line with the Pro-Putin treason espoused by Trump and the rest of the treasonous MAGAscum clearly demonstrates that this spineless piece of shit should never be allowed near any position of responsibility. (Can someone explain why all SEALs are assholes?)
Surprise surprise (not!), Sheehy faces a possible primary challenge from leading MAGAscum Rep. Matt Rosendale, an outspoken isolationist in the House Fwee-Dumb Caucus who introduced legislation prohibiting further aid to Ukraine until America's southern border is secured. (Hey moron - it got fixed as well as it can be by Biden, no thanks to you or the Orange Menace)
In Nevada, MAGA’s favored senatorial candidate against incumbent senator Jackie Rosen is Sam Brown, a decorated veteran whose injuries in Afghanistan have turned him deeply skeptical of American military engagement abroad. During his unsuccessful Senate primary campaign last year, he said, "At a time where there’s so much domestic unease on so many issues, the media and our politicians want to turn our eyes to places like Ukraine or Afghanistan." Brown - and Sheehy - remind me I never knew so many white male morons in one place at one time as the US Military.
In Ohio, businessman Bernie Moreno, the fundraising leader in a competitive Senate primary who has been endorsed by J.D. Vance, one of the Senate's leading MAGA critics of Ukraine aid (and further proof of the statement above regarding where to find white male morons), in a three-way race to take on Sen. Sherrod Brown, sounded a skeptical note on Ukraine funding in a recent interview with Breitbart News, stating "We spent trillions in the Middle East since 9/11, and what did we get for it? Nothing. Everything is objectively worse. So we can't allow that to happen in Eastern Europe."
Both of Moreno's primary opponents - Secretary of State Frank LaRose and state Sen. Matt Dolan - have expressed unequivocal support for Ukraine in its efforts to fend off Russian aggression.
Over half of Republicans consider themselves part of the MAGA movement, while 39% say they don't. This is why candidat es like LaRose and Dolan have a hard time.
Do we need further proof that MAGA is America’s - and the democratic world’s - sworn enemy, supporting anti-democratic fascist scum like Vladimir Putin, Orban in Hungary, and Italy’s former fascist-street-scum-turned-Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni?

It gets better. Sam Brown has a primary opponent in Nevada: Jim Marchant, who lost last year for secretary of state on a 2020 stolen election platform. Brown apparently doesn't agree, but don't look for him to say it.
The interesting question to ask these guys is, "You say you served in the military? For which country did you fight against the United States?"
All those trillions of dollars spent in the Middle East? A whole lot of those dollars were spent on trashing Iraq. Our military was sent over there based on Republican lies. Then there's all the money to Saudi Arabia. (Remember, most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudis.) As usual the Republicans are ignorant of the facts of the situation, or they're just plain lying.
