LET THE MORONS SELF-EXTERMINATE

I was at the local supermarket yesterday. Here in the City and County of Lost Angles, the County Department of Health has advised people to wear masks indoors due to the increased transmissibility of the Delta variant of COVID-19. Since I happen to be the caregiver for a partner who is now permanently bed-bound, her body weakened by the ravages of @#$%$#@!! Parkinson’s (I hate hate hate that disease; I’ve lost one good friend to it- the guy without whose friendship you wouldn’t know me - and my former screenwriting partner has the diagnosis, not to mention my partner who is never going to walk down to the beach in Oregon with her easel and canvas and paints, to paint the seascapes she so wanted to do), I worry about bringing the damn thing home with me - it’s been my major fear in life now for the past 17 months. So there I am, in the checkout line, and the white male moron (Why are these kinds of morons ALWAYS white males? It’s embarrassing!) In front of me - maskless - turns and says “Why are you wearing that? Don’t you know it’s over?” Since I didn’t want to get arrested for starting a riot, I didn’t say anything - even when he went on to proclaim it never really was a “real problem” anyway.

The amount of stupidity one can run across in the City of Lost Angles, despite one’s best efforts to avoid it (it’s too bad it’s not like dog poop, at least if you pay attention you won’t step in that), truly boggles the mind some days.

I came home and there was an e-mail notification that my good friend Lucian K. Truscott IV had a new post at his substack blog (you should read his blog - https://luciantruscott.substack.com/)

What caught my eye was this:

“‘Virtually all Covid-19 hospitalizations and deaths in the United States are now occurring among unvaccinated individuals,’ White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients said at a White House press briefing today. Anthony Fauci went on Meet the Press on Sunday to announce that 99.2 percent of Covid deaths in June were unvaccinated people. State statistics are beginning to trickle in. Tennessee is reporting that 99 percent of Covid deaths in the state are unvaccinated. Maryland reported the other day that 99 percent of deaths and 98 percent of hospitalizations due to Covid were unvaccinated.”

So, if we’re fully vaccinated, we’re safe, right? Well, no, not necessarily. We can get infected with it - the chances are astoundingly small, but they exist; and for me, bringing home something that might not kill me is not necessarily guaranteed not to kill my partner. So I wear the mask, and all the white male morons on the planet aren’t going to convince me to do otherwise.

We’re becoming Two Americas more and more every day. Last month, the Washington Post published some alarming statistics: nationwide, 80% of Democrats have received at least one dose of a vaccine, while only 47% of Republicans have done so. The article goes on to report that 27% of Republicans won’t get it under any circumstances. Less than 10% will get it if it is required. Another report has 25% of unvaccinated Republicans saying they would buy a counterfeit vaccination card if “vaccine passports” became necessary. So they’re out there, and they’re dangerous to you.

We keep dividing on political lines. NPR pointed out that the 20 states with the highest vaccination rates all voted for Biden; 17 of the 20 states with the lowest rates went for Trump. As with the rest of our politics, this division into Vaccinated and Unvaccinated America is geographic: 72% of the population here in California is vaccinated; the part of the state where the majority of the un-vaccinated 28% live is what I call “Oklafornia”: the Central Valley, that part of the state north of I-80, and Orangatang County to our immediate south. The division is the same nationwide. Mississippi and Alabama have the lowest vaccination rate along with the lowest everything else that’s good, 33%. It’s 34% in Arkansas and 35% in “Looserana.” “Jawjah” is all the way up to 37%. Go to “Greater Utah” (Idaho, eastern Washington and Oregon, Nevada outside the cities, Arizona outside the cities, western Colorado, Utah itself) and the rates are similar.

Unsurprisingly - as they do with every other dumbassed thing - the morons in these places are happy to publicly celebrate their moron stupidity. They’re proud of their ignorance. Permanent Confederate Traitor Marjorie Taylor Green and Colorado Gunbunny Lauren Boebert are upset about the “Needle Nazis” and the Brownshirts” coming to your home to jab you after President Biden proposed going “door to door” to offer vaccinations. Yeah - “Needle Nazis” - “Brownshirts”!

Former Wrestler Thrown a Time or Two Too Many on His Head Congressman Gym Jordan tweeted: "The Biden Administration wants to knock on your door to see if you’re vaccinated. What’s next? Knocking on your door to see if you own a gun?"

Professional Idiot Candace Owens posted: “Know this - not one person in my family will ever touch the Covid-19 vaccine. That is a decision we have made unabashedly as a family. Medical FREEDOM is an individual right that should never be infringed upon and any person who thinks otherwise has no place in our government.”

Turning Point USA grifter Charlie Kirk, who proves you should never trust white male wingnuts under 30, is organizing college students to resist the mandatory vaccination requirements to attend college in person this fall that have been established by many institutions of higher learning. “No Forced Vax!”

Former White House “Dr. Feel Good” Tex-ass Congressman Ronny Jackson, demonstrating that you must ALWAYS know the political beliefs of your medical professionals, lest you allow a Republican moron to touch you, posted: “Joe Biden wants to send armies of masked government bureaucrats door-to-door to bully Americans into getting a vaccine. This is WRONG! Government can’t ever FORCE you to get a Covid vaccine. We shouldn’t be forcing ANYONE to take a shot they don’t want or need!” (This guy has a medical doctorate???)

Charlie Sykes had a good reaction to this insanity in his “Morning Shots” post today:

“Try to imagine, for example, a campaign to mock attempts to improve airline safety in the wake of a crash that killed hundreds. Or try to envision a political class that would ridicule and undermine engineers who were trying to shore up the foundations of condominiums in Florida in the days after a horrific building collapse there.”

Let’s just remember: 99.5% of all recent Covid-19 deaths from the Delta variant are among the un-vacccinated. It’s almost like the con artists and grifters of Conservatism Inc. want to kill off the rubes and hayshakers who give them their money!

NBC News reports:

“Missouri not only leads the nation in new cases relative to the population, it is also averaging 1,000 cases per day — about the same number as the entire Northeast, including the big cities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

“The problem in Missouri, as health experts see it: Just 45 percent of the state's residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, compared with 55 percent of the U.S. population. Some rural counties near Springfield have vaccination rates in the teens and 20s.”

Over the July 4th weekend, a hospital in Springfield, Mo., begged on social media for respiratory therapists to help their crisis. (Shoutout to the respiratory therapists: it was reported on Sunday that 14 therapists had come in response, and on Monday the total was 49 - these people are saints.)

Back in February, Professional Veteran (it’s really too bad that bullet didn’t hit 2 inches to the right - between his eyes) Dan Crenshaw wrote in the Daily Beast that “The dirty little secret” is that some of the influencers or pundits who scream the loudest about “getting out and fighting” are not, in fact, interested in “real solutions.” Rather, their dedication to the cause is based on monetary return by continually feeding the beast, “and the beast is especially hungry when it is angry.”

So guess what this walking, talking reminder that I never knew so many white male morons in one place at one time as I did in the Navy, say yesterday? “How about don’t knock on my door? You’re not my parents.”

Cognitive dissonance and irony are completely alien to these people.

And of course, the major vector of all this is Faux Snooze, the Most Dangerous Thing In The World. (Even the conservative Prime Minister of Australia has described Rupert Murdoch as the man most responsible for the Covid c crisis there).

Conservative writer Jonathan V. Last describes the situation thus:

“...doesn’t this cross the line into actual evil? I’m not being hyperbolic. If you’re trying to stop a course of action that will save lives and has nothing whatsoever to do with you—and you’re doing it purely for political self-interest—what other word is there?”

A medical friend once explained a pandemic to me as being “Evolution’s IQ Test,” The test has one question: “Are you intelligent enough to take this information and use it to change your behavior in such a way as to maximize your likelihood of survival?”

I’m sorry. I have no patience or pity left for the morons who listen to these scum. We no longer have sabretooth tigers to depopulate the idiots, so let flunking “Evolution’s IQ Test” take its place. Let ‘em Make America Great Again with their permanent departures. Hurrah for Darwin and a country with more Homo Sapiens and fewer Homo Saps. Let them self-exterminate.

Ending on a positive note, pay attention to what President Biden said today:

“Please get vaccinated now. It works. It’s free. It’s never been easier, and it’s never been more important. Do it now for yourself and the people you care about, for your neighborhood, for your country. It sounds corny, but it’s a patriotic thing to do. Please, please, get vaccinated. It makes a big difference.”

Just 47.7% of Americans are fully vaccinated, according to the most up-to-date CDC data.
