Actually, it really did happen overnight.
Between 1am this morning and around 8:30 when I looked into the email inbox, I discovered that 50 readers had signed up as free subscribers, and another five as paid subscribers. And since then, as of 10:45 PST, another 15 have signed up.
An overnight success - after only mumblemumblemumble years of effort.
The nice thing, looking through the sign-up emails to do “market research” and see where they came from, is to discover that there is a nice wide spectrum of background in other substacks you folks read. That’s good news. The next two years - regardless of what happens tomorrow - is going to require everyone being “all in” if we’re going to make it.
This coming Saturday and Sunday are the 80th anniversary of the greatest “all in” bet in American military history. I’ll be writing about it - I hope you’ll like it. It’s a good example to follow from here out.
And for all the new subscribers: thank you very much. I hope I’ll be able to present a good reason or ten for you to become a paid subscriber.
You all keep me on my toes.
A paid subscription keeps That’s Another Fine Mess going and only costs $7/month, or $70/year, saving you $14.
Comments for this post are open to everyone, because I’d like to hear from the new subscribers.
You were the second substack I signed up for after LFAA. Well worth the money even if I don't comment that often. Those who do comment always add to my knowledge so I get double my money's worth.
Great news, and I cheated - I looked up the date and I am waiting for your take on this most significant event.
