Sounds like I missed quite a show. Wise words were spoken. Selecting an Everyman as her running mate may go down as VP Harris's best decision in this campaign. Four years ago, the future VP Harris herself was Joe Biden's best campaign decision, which is bearing fruit, and then some, this cycle.

From Florida, we are seeing a distinct shift towards the Vice President in the important county of Miami-Dade. I'm hoping this is a trend in our other very populated blue counties because that may tip us into swing state status--then I can go see the show for myself!

I’ve read that she discussed her running mate with Biden.

They spoke of campaigning all over the country. I hope they do.

Wonderfully written! She took us there with her!

The flame is lit. It brought to mind the genius of the Olympic cauldron, lit and rising in a hot air balloon to make it easily visible to all,

The crowd did the Wave for almost an hour. We have photos with everyone around us. The feeling of camaraderie was palpable.

Simply put, none of us should feel alone or alienated anymore. We have found our people and we are uniting.

My God, I had chills the entire time I read this. Harris/Walz is a tsunami and I hope it washes Maga out.

I’m glad you mentioned chills. When the first speaker came out and said she is a teacher in Las Vegas we knew we were in for a spectacular night.

I would have loved to have been there!

Absolutely remarkable. It is the first time I felt like I had participated in, not just viewed the excitement. Amazing piece of descriptive writing. Thank you, Tom!

Gloria can lay it down. Her long descriptive poetry kicks butt too.

Thank you! for mentioning my poetry!! I have the heart of a poetic and the pen of a political rabble rouser. 😀

To paraphrase Russell Crowe in ”Master and Commander” … “After all, Harris-Walz are on our side.”

The excitement is palpable even through the miasma, seeping into every nook and cranny of the USA. What an about face, and a spit in the face of the scared perp.

If we can maintain and expand this feeling to election day, we - especially younger voters who do not trust the power of voting - will learn an invaluable lesson: IF we vote, we can have the country we want..... It really IS that simple.

Follow Senator Jacky Rosen’s advice. Don’t Boo, VOTE! She won her Senate seat by 1,722 votes. 1%. Think about this:

a river's silent strength.

Together, we labor,

hands of earth,

building futures

from whispered dreams.

One force,

moving mountains,

shaping destinies.

In the quiet hum

of unity,

we become unbreakable.

We live 45 minutes north of the event venue and literally had a travel plan with different routes to the Thomas & Mack Center. There were people from all over the country flowing into the stadium.

Begorra! When is JD going to point out that this is PROOF that Harris supporters are paid--by the slice!

The nastiness of the trump claim that the crowd at the Denver Airport was fake made me realize that there is a trickier way than photoshopping per se to deceive. Take a picture of something real (a crowd size); photoshop it in subtle ways, detectible by people who know what to look for, but leaving it otherwise real, and publish the result as proof that the crowd sized was photoshopped.

Delightful recounting of the excitement of a real event here, of course.

We are Battle Born, we are Las Vegas, we are America - and with leaders like Harris and Waltz, who truly understand the heart of this nation, we're unstoppable! Really beautiful words to summarize what sounds like an incredible event. It’s been encouraging and heartwarming to see snippets of the last several rallies, but to hear about the event, from waiting in line (yay volunteers) to listening to speakers and then being moved by the enthusiasm and genuine nature of Harris and Walz and what they represent to the American people, it brings me to tears thinking about the momentous nature of what is happening in real time!
