The bill now heads to the Senate, where it will likely be DOA as it will need some Democratic support to overcome a filibuster. Earlier Thursday, Senate Democrats blocked a DHS funding measure, with only Sen. John Fetterman voting in favor. The bill is largely identical to the one that passed the lower chamber in January, before the death of Alex Pretti at the hands of CBP thugs sparked outrage among Democrats.
