I'm not going to post a link to it, it's spreading quickly, but footage from the murderer's cell phone was released to a right wing media outlet (Alpha News) in the belief that it exonerates the murderer. It does not. After shooting, he calls her "Fucking bitch".

Adam Kinzinger…”So an officer has his phone out recording obviously distracted, shoots a woman and calls her a “f’ing Bitch” and they think that HELPS the case?!?”

“Fucking bitch”. Yeah, nothing prejudicial there! Here’s my prejudice - he’s a fucking asshole!

💔 not ❤️. Let’s try 🤮. Thank you for this remark about the content, as I’m sure most of us were wondering. And then there were the ICE thugs who were kicking over candles at the memorial spot neighbors had created. Then lots of bullying. Hope everybody just keeps taking video, taking video, taking video. Bless the mobile phone industry for this capacity because we see the huge effect it has, of course in our personal lives, but certainly toward the survival and once again thrival of our democracy as we rebuild. Thanks for the post.

So ICE hires trigger happy woman haters. I bet there’s a check box on the application. I so fucking exhausted and distraught and sick over this week. And it’s only the first week of the year.

We survived the first year. In just one more, the blue tsunami will roll over Congress and wash away the detritus. Let’s make this year more painful for the regime and rewarding for us. Take the wins and fight the losses. We are strong and there are millions more of us! 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

Kyle Rittenhouse. I was just wondering where he was; surprised he hasn't become an ICE employee.

Apparently he was looking at going to Minnesota, but the backlash was so swift and brutal he backed down.

The eagerness with which Ross pulled his pistol and fired struck me.

This guy was in a hurry to discharge his weapon. Probably his hallmark in life.

I understand ICE training length has been cut from six months to 47 days. Why 47 you may well ask. Because that is the number of this president.

If, per Ms Noem, Jonathan Ross had such bad ptsd from a car "incident" a few months earlier shouldn't he have been home, resting and getting therapy?....not out on the streets of Minneapolis?

My favorite comment of the day doesn’t come from TC (sorry, Tom) but from Kara Swisher: JD Vance is the cyber truck of politics. 😁

Sadly, Mr. Thune is

hoping - per Politico - to

change the minds of at

least 2 of the senators

who voted on the War

Powers Act, after a testy

conversation with our

current fascist leader,

DJT. Someone explain to

me what actual good our

current R congress and

senate are.

Kitty closing please…? 🙏🏽

Sheeesh, that Cheeto frown…ugh.

Continuing in SNF to rebuild toward full autonomy, thank goodness attainable, I’m told. I have a bedridden roommate and her husband stays throughout. Overhearing conversation when their daughter visits, it’s clear our politics are aligned. They have the TV on a lot, cyclical news all day, but I mentioned to the husband. I’m so grateful we are aligned so no one is turning on Fox News. We’re cordial but not friendly and I could not tell how he took my comment. But always when Earl and I were at the VA… Nothing but Fox News. OMG.! Glad to see the massive demonstrations… Immunity? Man, there’s no way they really believe what they’re saying. It’s all a front, a huge factor in the power grab.

So with you about the photo that triggered my gag reflex. Even the backends of the kitties are preferable. (Was it something we said, Tom?)

KATHERINE H. TERHUNE's avatar

Ha ha - something we said… the unexpected certainly caught me off guard, jarring! I must say the pervasiveness of DJT visage and voice and news and outrageous bullying… Official portrait: give me a break! I think it looks a lot like his mug shot from Georgia, actually…

And to think I used to like Cheetos… Haven’t touched any in several years, but I must confess to finding some tasty alternatives at Trader Joe’s.

Here kitty kitty kitty… 😊

I remember how Lenin had to have his officious mug everywhere in Russia as a public reminder of who was in charge. There was a strong threat component to it, just as there is with Despicable's mug everywhere he plants it. When he's finally gone, all vestiges of him must go too. It's bad enough he dominates attention while he's alive; let us be sure to silence him when he's in his grave in a village outside Moscow.

KATHERINE H. TERHUNE's avatar

Are there golf courses in Moscow? Maybe that’s where his grave can be.

When the movie Hamilton, actually filmed in 2016, but a theater version for the big screen was released September 5… Our family had a bit of history with it as our grandson, whom we raised, was in grade 5 when my husband suffered his stroke and was gone five months in a subacute in San Jose with a trach and feeding tube… Daily, we drove together to see him at the height of rush-hour traffic and grandson would play the soundtrack of the musical. We were blessed to see the stage show twice. When the movie was released, it’s possible I saw it six or seven times, having bought a monthly pass from Alamo… Besides immersing myself in its magic, I became aware I was installing a soundtrack in my head, which got rid of the daily awakening with names from the news hitting the forefront of my thinking first thing… Maddening. Instead, like a radio, I would tune in to see what tune was playing in my head. Midday, I could tune in to see what tune was playing in my head….like practicing for a performance, it just became a part of me and I loved the alternate route my brain was able to travel (I may have been immersed in SUBSTACK more than is healthy. At some point, I remarked that Kathie: Substack as a teen:TikTok. I’ve tried to be a bit more moderate while still tuned in to predominant themes.

Thank you, TC. I am exhausted after reading this post today. I wonder what it will be tomorrow?????

We are, for all intents and purposes, living in a dictatorship. When the Madman of Mar-A-Lago says he doesn't believe in international law and his 'morals' (a sick joke) are the only ones that matter, and no one at the venerated NY Fucking Times even excuses themselves to find the nearest toilet to puke, no wonder Tony Hairspray* says "you don't trust us."

*(Jesus, Katy, I thought you had better taste in men)

Trump's trip to the roof of the White House that time was a foreshadowing of another of his self-aggrandizing boondoggles. He now wants to add a dormer, granny suite, or a tower to lock MTG in above the storied West Wing. Who knows? He claims donors are lining up to pay for it. I guess all those tax cuts will enable them to give us not just addenda to the White House, but it won't stop there until we have a Potemkin nation.

When will we know it's time to call in hospice for the States of America?

Your paragraph triggered a memory from when I was 13 or 14, at home sick from school. Looking in the family bookcase, I found a paperback with selected dialogues from Plato. When I got to the section on Friendship, I was puzzled and asked my mother what Plato meant about friendship between men and boys, in a society in which women were - apparently - only for reproduction and caring for the family home. My mother - as I vaguely recall - didn't actually explain and suggested that perhaps I should be reading something else.
