Of all the horrible things this administration has done, none has disheartened and disgusted me the way the SNAP issue has!
I cannot believe people are willing to let others starve. This is basic humanity.
I hope all are donating what they can to food banks. BTW, happy to see my local Kroger affiliate has shelves right by the front door with sealed paper grocery bags of food. $5/bag, t
Who are the commies now? Trump and Vance must have been inspired by Stalin's policies leading to five million starvations in the Holodomor. May every child who goes to bed hungry in this country of abundance grow up to be the generous souls so many who grew up during the Great Depression became as adults building the post-war America.
Thanks, Tom. Hoping the 1st Circuit does the right thing.
I've donated to two of my local "Little Free Pantry" locations, and since a friend of mine (who is a dependency attorney) found that most folks pay $36.50 for SNAP per year via federal taxes, I donate $37 monthly to our local food bank.
Hope you have a day of peace and focus. Your writing is a great forte, and when your attention is pulled all over the map, while you might still yield great writing, there’s nothing like a block of time to focus, ignoring the world at large. Nature? Kitties? Good nutrition? Sunlight? You can pick and choose any kind of little break, just to move around and elevate, but then back to your project where it feels grand to see real progress. Onward. Enjoy.
Just adding this in case anybody reading here doesn’t look at Andy Borowitz with any regularity. He’s known for his parody, of course… But today’s column is downright serious with of course a few zingers thrown in for fun.
I thought I’d share in case you’d enjoy the uplift. In his comment section, uplift is the theme for sure. Encouraging stuff.

Enjoy your Saturday Tom. I'm cooking lentil soup today and relieved to just be present to enjoy the fragrance wafting through the kitchen.
